ITA began with its founding in the 80s and grew up with its second generation of the family.
We are chemists, food technologists, clerks and factory workers that love working here.
We have been working for thirty years in order supporting the shelf life of the great Italian food industry products and we have lived in first person the change of the food sector which made us understand that the less it is chemical, the more is real!
We do not resell third-party ingredients or simple commodities, but produce our own nature-based products, as it is more important selecting and researching instead of manipulating the raw material.

All our products are gluten-free; our company is gluten-free since its founding!
We use only natural raw materials for natural ingredients and we don’t produce chemical food additives with E numbers.
We formulated our products without allergens and we own the Organic Certification.
Dr. Luigi Caldera is a food chemist who has worked from the 60s in the historic Italian food industry as an R & D .
Thanks to his experience , he founded ITA in the 80s and has followed the evolution of the food industry up to now .

We produce our technological ingredients for the food industry starting from the knowledge of the strict industrial process standards that lead us to offer you high-volume supplies.
The challenge of Preservation
In our industry, providing ingredients to improve the quality standards of industrial food production is not the only challenge; maintaining them during a long storage is our ultimate goal.
Fully equipped with tools for microbiology and physical chemical analysis, an environmental chamber for shelf life testing and a small testing kitchen. The laboratory carries out various activities:
Analysis and control of raw materials,
analysis and control of the finished product,
issue of certificates as per Italian rules and regulations.
For specific analysis, our laboratory networks with the best laboratories accredited by the Italian Ministry of Health.
For all new projects we work on samples from the customer’s standard production, on which we perform any necessary tests in order to identify the suitable product.
This process, which might seem to be an excessive use of time, is the work that ensures the final result.
Research and development
Each new idea is conceived, implemented and tested internally in the laboratory’s various areas; from the chemical formula, to the product tasting and the shelf life testing.
Research and development is the heart of the company, that is why a lot of space is given to the development of new ideas and the commissioning of testing for the new products.
The production is totally internal; the products are created in dedicated production lines with an original ITA FOOD IMPROVERS® formula to guarantee a well-finished production and carried out with safety without the risk of cross-contamination.
Quality control follows the creation of the formula through to the monitoring of its production.
Throughout all of the various stages of production - from the receipt of the raw materials to the packaging of the finished product - controlling is followed by the QC.
The production departments accommodate many lines which are equipped with autonomous systems for powders, liquids, encapsulates and emulsifiers.
The systems were internally designed and are reviewed on a regular basis together with the weighing and handling systems.
The strict regime of self-monitoring is in full compliance with safety standards and regular Hygiene and Safety monitoring visits are done to check the machinery and the environment and to guarantee an extremely well-finished production.
